We'd been driving past this lot of wildflowers as we went to swimming lessons for weeks this summer. It didn't look like much in the daylight but I was hoping to make it up there at sunset one day. The day before school started, Ruby had just come back from soccer practice and I told her to grab a hair brush and I'd get a top for her and to meet me in the car in one minute. We drove fast (not too fast) and got the very last smidge of sunlight on the field. This girl. I love her. Images like this make me amazed that she's eight and growing so much. They make me want to spend time talking with her and listening to her because she's beautiful and mine and because I want to help her heart to grow. She is our treasure.
