After a lot of prayer that this sweet treasure would stay put until she was full term, her family was so very happy to welcome her. Healthy, happy, and perfect. When I arrived, her darling sisters were circling around her like little mother hens themselves.
Oh, I love newborns...the way they stretch and squeak, those little limbs all curled up, the swirls of hair, and how very cozy they are.
Here is Sarah, Sierra's mommy, who is delighted to have her girl here and is soaking up that new baby smell.
And Dad...who doesn't look terribly worried about being so outnumbered by girls in his family....fours girls and him.
Truly. She is just gorgeous: that skin, that hair, the soft rolls, the round little belly. I know, I know...you want to pick her up.
I asked the girls before Sierra was born, if their sister would be as pretty as they are, and I think they were absolutely right when they said she would be.
And then we had to play around with this girly girl a little. I am sure that her sisters will be dressing her up as soon as they can! Do you see that concentration on her face? I wonder what she was doing, Sarah?
In love with their blessing. God is so very good.
